Our Story

Nearly ten years before Lost and Found Apparel was born, this brand started simply as an idea. Only in high school at the time, I one day found myself inspired by a black leather wrap bracelet I had worn countless times before. The single strip of leather curled around my wrist about ten times, and etched throughout the leather were simple phrases like "peace on earth" scribbled in silver ink. Though the letters began to fade after years of wear, the concept of incorporating messages onto clothing stayed with me in the coming years.

It wasn't until my second semester of college that this idea truly came to fruition. Given an "end of semester" creative assignment, I was presented with the task of solving a worldwide problem through fashion. My peers wove technology into their collections: developing pieces that could detect disease at early stages, help manage stress, and so on. But I couldn't help but think that the world was in desperate need of Jesus, and-- what if I simply wove God's life-saving, Living Word into my designs in hopes of pointing someone to Him? This was the first time I felt the Lord capture my attention in this way, and encourage me to combine my faith with my love of fashion. But as a cautious creative, I decided to keep this concept hidden until much, much later on in my college career.

As I finished my Associate's degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology and worked towards my bachelor's, I began experimenting with this marriage of faith and fashion. As I grew bolder in her faith, I grew more courageous in my designs, and began to create scarves, sweaters, and even 12-look illustrated collections inspired by stories in the Bible. I had changed the name of my hypothetical brand more than once, but the concept only grew stronger. My mission was to create a Christian-based clothing brand that glorified the Lord, while providing the world with quality, upscale pieces designed to help believers of all ages to boldly and effortlessly share the Gospel with the world. These pieces would be ideal for the office, formal events, or anywhere where a "casual t-shirt" just wouldn't cut it. It would become a brand designed for the man and woman looking to literally wear their faith on their sleeve...

This concept was to be completely distinct from Christian streetwear (you know-tees, hats, and hoodies) that has been around since probably the 1980s. While effective in theory, as mentioned, a casual T-shirt has its limitations. I knew that Christian clothing needed to be highly versatile, providing you with the opportunity to share your faith in any environment. And of course, it had to be exquisitely made and visually pleasing to properly reflect a God who is too beautiful to comprehend. Every piece needed to be both a work of art and a tool to catch the attention of unbelievers everywhere--opening up the door to Christ-centered conversations.

And in 2021, these ideologies turned into what is now known as "Lost and Found Apparel."

As I continue to grow in my personal walk with God and build upon the foundations of this brand, it is my hope and prayer that the Lord will use Lost and Found Apparel to lead this depraved world to Jesus. While we as humans do not have the power to save, the Lord commands us in Matthew 28:19-20 to make disciples of all the nations...and we will continue to use our talents to do just that.
